TEAG builds first HPC in Thuringia
Fast charging solution from ADS-TEC officially in operation

After several weeks of testing, Thuringia's first high-power charger (HPC) with integrated battery storage has been officially commissioned at the site of TEAG's Erfurt headquarters. Dr. Andreas Roß, TEAG's Chief Technology Officer, about the HPC from ADS-TEC: "We can finally bring HPC chargers to places where because of a lack of space and limited grid resources, it was before only possible with uneconomically high costs: to city centres, supermarkets or even gas stations and car dealerships. Now we can set up fast-charging hubs that enable fast and convenient charging for this customers.”

Further information about the HPC can be found here.

ID.3 Germany tour
ADS-TEC supports world record drive

28,198 kilometres, 652 charging stations, 65 days and the world record for the longest continuous drive through a country in an e-vehicle. This is the result of Rainer Zietlow on the ID.3 Germany tour. The marathon drive has tested extensively the long-distance suitability of e-vehicles and the charging infrastructure in Germany. ADS-TEC supported the fully electric record drive as a sponsor and welcomed the ID.3 team on their track from Oberstdorf to Sylt. Thomas Speidel, CEO of ADS-TEC, demonstrated the innovative fast charging system HPC at the VW ID.3 Pro S.

Practical report: Island-operated energy model
Single-family home with an electric charging station and the goal of maximum self-sufficiency

In the swiss canton Aargau, an old homestead has been converted into a private solar power plant over the last ten years. The own electricity is mainly generated with the help of a 20 kWp PV system and made available around the clock in a battery storage system from ADS-TEC with 28 kWh capacity and 20 kW. Except for self-supply, the solar power is also used for the estates own electric charging station. In addition, a thermal solar system and an electric hot water converter for excess PV electricity are integrated into the power plant.

The battery system communicates intelligently with the PV system, the wallbox and the grid. If needed, the system is able to establish a fully self-sufficient 3-phase emergency power operation with a capacity of 20 kVA (max. 6.6 kVA ship load). Therefore, the owners refer to their battery as the heart of the solar power plant. Purchase decisive was the high functionality, because no comparable system with emergency power option, with black start capability and a switchover time to island grid in a very short time (according to grid guideline VDE-AR-N-4105) could be found on the market. Furthermore the storage system has high-quality NA protection.

The storage will mainly be used to live as self-sufficiently as possible on the farm and to use it for e-mobility. This is already largely achieved over eight summer months (ca.98%).

Questions or further information about the battery storage system? - We look forward to your request.
