Before her opening speech at this year's Energy Storage in Düsseldorf, North-Rhine Westphalian
Minister-President Hannelore Kraft visited a few selected trade stands on a walkabout in order to get an idea of the current situation in the storage industry on the basis of energy storage system
manufacturers and the German Energy Storage Association (BVES e.V.). In her opening speech, she stressed:

"We want to further the development of storage systems, renewables and networks in a quick and well-balanced way, and harmonise this development. Our goal must be to incorporate such a strategy into the highly-complex system consisting of electricity market design, EEG (German Renewable Energy Sources Act), grid reserves and network charges. North-Rhine Westphalia is therefore particularly engaged in the development of a storage system strategy at national level.”

In a discussion with ADS-TEC CEO and BVES President Thomas Speidel, the
Minister-President expressed interest in the approach of joint use of storage system (such as the power bank) and particularly in the topic of stationary storage used in a charging infrastructure for
electromobility, which will bring new volatile and also mobile consumers into the power supply network. The new PowerBooster outdoor battery system from ADS-TEC was therefore
introduced, which contains high power levels in order to refuel quickly in the power-limited
distribution network
