On July 4, 2018, the first battery storage system linked with the energy and plant management system "emsyst 4.0" of R.I.E.MPP (Unterensingen) was put into operation by the industrial customer Krämer GmbH in Metzingen. Emsyst 4.0 is a monitoring software for your own energy power plant at home or in the industry. It captures and visualizes different consumers such as lighting or air conditioning and makes them controllable.

Krämer has added its energy system with an existing PV system by the ADS-TEC battery storage system SRS2047 with 47 kilowatt-hours capacity and 20 kilowatts of power, thus expanding it into an industrial power plant. The storage system optimizes the self-consumption of solar energy from the PV system. The self-generated energy is by that available around the clock for all consumers in the company. In this way, the company manages to be almost self-sufficient.

Guest of honor of the storage opening at Krämer GmbH in Metzingen was the Minister of the Environment Franz Untersteller from Baden-Württemberg.
