As a specialist for manipulation and claw technology, ads-tec has developed flexible and intelligent claw systems. Their technology is based on mechatronic modules. A claw module is capable of recognising and gripping many different types of workpieces. The solutions offered by ads-tec provide utmost precision at high speeds and even in rough environments.
The ads-tec double claws easily handle even larger cast parts like gearboxes or cylinder heads. These claws make it easy to implement loading systems, e.g. for robots or large milling machines. The claws are designed with all required functions, sensors, actuators and valves integrated in the claw. Machine operation only requires connecting a Profibus cable, a pneumatic hose and (or) a hydraulic line. This allows for extremely rapid changeover of an entire claw or subcomponent.
With a positioning accuracy of 0.1 mm, the ads-tec double claw picks up an unprocessed blank from the conveyor line and a processed part from the machine area. It then pivots by 180° in order to place the blank in the machine and to return the processed part to the conveyor. Workpieces are changed over in less than 12 to 20 seconds, depending on the workpiece weight.

The flexible clamping module is another mechatronic component of the ads-tec claw. It picks up workpieces by inserting an expansion element in its bore. This technology is entirely integrated in the module. From the outside, only the compressed air hose and a cable for the ASI bus is visible. The entire pneumatic hose system and wiring is completely hidden inside the module. Because there are only two connectors, the clamping module can easily be installed. An expansion element is used to expand the claw finger. The claw finger is equipped with a quick connector to accommodate changes in diameter during setups.

Material handling technology from ads-tec always provides you with the right solution for putting the workpieces in the correct position with respect to the proper claw. Our 90° rotation stations allow your workpiece to run "around corners". The matching return station additionally provides for a 180° turn of workpieces. No matter which direction the workpiece flow has to go, the interlinking system accommodates all requirements. Despite their robust design and installation on top of steel frames, interlinking systems require only a small investment. Thanks to the ads-tec interfaces between loading and transport system, customers can get all components from a single supplier.
